Baby carrier covers - UV protection?

I’ve trawled the internet and come to the conclusion that what I want only seems to exist in Australia.

DD has reflux so is happier in a carrier than in the pram. I have a snoozeshade for the pram, and want an equivalent to go over her in the carrier. I can find fleecey ones, waterproof ones, ones with a pouch to keep my hands warm, but nothing for hotter weather. I don’t really want to use a regular muslin, and she is too little for suncream. Obviously I’ll be in the shade as much as possible but need to accept that there will be times when we aren’t.

Any bright ideas? Do I need to start accessorising with a parasol?

I went on a mummy meet up with Peanut today. Loads of us mums using slings had either large bonnets on their little ones or a parasol yes.

Surely just a UV hat will be fine… we have bonnet ones so they don’t go over her face.

I have a big Duns hat that really covers my baby's head effectively. I also have an extra large muslin that I can tuck round the whole carrier just to cover up little arms and legs where necessary

Just wondering what people do if the baby won’t wear a hat? We want to use our carrier on holiday but our baby has reached an age when she will remove hats straight away.

Yes, we have a hat too. I was more wondering about her arms and legs - she has a couple of birthmarks that need to stay out of the sun. At the moment she is in sleepsuits so she is covered but as it heats up I thought I might want to put her in something shorter/thinner.

Lightweight long sleeved top and trousers. Cotton, linen, bamboo.

I have the nuna cudl that has an inbuilt hood for shade but it covers the head, not arms and legs. Light clothing?

Seems like light clothing is the way forwards. At least I know I’m not missing anything!
