Kendamil - newborn sick

Has anyone experienced kendamil causing quite a lot of sick? My baby is 7 days old, we switched to combi feeding because he's struggling to latch & since introducing formula he has become very sicky. It looks like this photo. Is it the brand of formula or is this normal? Should we consider changing formula brands?

Congratulations on your new baby!

If you are having trouble with Kendamil, and lots do, you only have to read through threads about it in MN to see it doesn't suit all babies, then yes, I'd swap. All formulas have to adhere to strict nutritional guidelines so one isn't really better than another.

As for the latch, it might be worth ringing one of the BFing Helplines or going to your local BFing Group if you want to continue with the Combi Feeding.

Has Tongue Tie been ruled out as well?

Just to add they my DNs did very well on Hipp Organic. Maybe try that one? Wink

Hi! Congratulations !!

I would definitely try another brand - we tried a few before we settled on aptamil, although that was a few years ago

as siouxsie said, there are strict rules around the content so swapping isn’t something to worry about

Thank you so much both! Does the sick look like normal baby formula sick to you? Sorry, total novice here so no idea what even looks normal!

He was on the ready feed ones so I think we might test the powder before we switch. Xx

My DD was sick after top up formula feeds (I also struggled when establishing BF). It turned out she has a dairy allergy.

My first port of call would be to try a different brand of standard formula. If the sickiness continues, speak to your HV/GP.

It's important not to jump to soon to 'dairy allergy' as it's a shame to miss out on the nutrition available from dairy unless it's necessary.
