Self sterilising bottles - do you still use a stereliser ?

Hi I'm debating whether to buy a steriliser still despite me buying the mam bottles as so many people have said they still find use in a machine for storage and it speeds up the process.

Does anyone have any advice on this? I really can't decide whether to just give it a miss and use the microwave!

We got a microwave steriliser and then got self sterilising bottles, and now never use the microwave steriliser! It's handy if you need to sterilise breast pump etc. But otherwise I wouldn't bother getting a separate steriliser! Or you could get some of the microwave bag ones as they don't take up any space.

Thank you, that is very helpful! Can I also ask how you dry them? Do you just use a drying rack?

To be honest I've never bothered drying them! Think if I did I'd just put them on the draining board. We don't use our microwave that much so I tend to keep them stored in there after sterilising.

That is good to know, I might just do that then! Thank you so much!!

We also use the Mam bottles and I have never used a separate steriliser. You can also buy microwave bags for occasional sterilising of dummies etc

I did when I moved to eff.

We also don’t dry them. We just have a day’s worth so everything gets used with 24 hrs. I think they say they are fine for 48 hr without drying.

thank you so much for your help folks, you've probably saved me £60 - £100 on a machine :)

I would recommend drying your microwave after use or accepting you'll need a new one at the end of the year (I went for this option!) as the steam often causes rust
