Formula feeding advice

Hi

Am looking for the standard minimum (ml) of daily formula milk mistake for 8/9 months old. Different websites mention varying amounts.

Some say 500-600ml, some 720ml and some say 100ml per Kg of baby’s weight… And some day as long as baby is alright it doesn’t matter..?

Really looking for some reliable guidance here as am quite worried because my baby’s milk consumption keeps dropping these days although she doesn’t take much solids either.

I've just started weaning my nearly 7 month old and in the Ella's Kitchen book it says they should still have 500ml of breast milk or formula once they're on solids so that's what I'm going with. Her milk intake has always been up and down but I've learnt to try and relax about it and trust she's getting what she needs. I know that's easier said than done! Do you have any weight concerns with your little one? Formula feeding is tricky as it's easy to get obsessed with the numbers on the bottle!

The 100 ml per kilo of weight is for babies under 6 months, so before solids are introduced so don't worry about that one Wink

If you're in the UK, between 6 and 10 months it's recommended that they have a minimum of 20 floz, although if they're having less and getting a multivitamin, that's fine too. Between 10 and 12 months it goes down to 13.5 floz.

Check with your health visitor if you're not sure, mine has given me good advice about formula quantities
