Losing my milk supply?

My 7mo has always been EBF, a few weeks ago we started introducing solids but she doesn't actually eat much yet as she's just started.

The last week or so I feel like my milk supply has gone way down. I used to fairly often feel them 'filling up' and don't anymore, and they just feel empty. You know when you have a feel to see which side feels more full so you know which side to start on, lately both sided feel totally empty.

She is swallowing when she feeds so she's obviously getting something but I'm worried she's not getting enough anymore. At night she is feeding more often ans for much longer each time, is she trying to get milk that isn't there anymore? Not sure what to do except keep trying to give her more solids, maybe a bottle of formula before bed?

Sounds like your supply is just adapting to baby starting solids. Soft boobs are happy boobs! Boobs are like milk rivers and not lakes so she is still getting milk and it is still there but it will probably be slightly less that baby needs now alongside solids and that is what you're noticing. Milk is made when milk is removed ☺️

Well done on feeding for 7m! Only offer formula if you want to but be prepared for that to potentially decrease your supply as baby will be removing less milk, again. Personally I'd just carry on feeding on demand.

Also I wouldn't give more solids either at this age as you don't want to replace milk entirely until after 1yo.

Your boobs aren’t meant to feel full, as above - soft boobs are happy boobs! They also don’t just run out of milk; boobs are like rivers, not lakes, so there’s always milk flowing there.
