I've been questioning really about the rise of anxiety in kids, it really feels that every second child now has mh struggles of some sort.

It definitely feels like kids today are far less resilient than we were at same age, my parents never went into the school complaining on my behalf. If I complained of an injustice I was usually met with a shrug along with a statement like things won't always go your way. I wonder how are we doing our kids a disservice in some way by helping supporting them as much as we do.

I ready the article above and it really resonates with me .
What does everyone thing? What is causing to r growth in mh issues.?
Is it inadvertently us???

I think it’s genetic in my family unfortunately, my DH is on antidepressants for anxiety and my children are affected.

@Fivebyfive2 that sounds great that he has been doing better in the last few months,so important to have a supportive setting outside of the home too.

@primoseyellow thanks, yeah it's been lovely seeing him getting a bit more confident recently! He's very bright bless him, chatty and kind (and cheeky!) with an ama memory but it's hard at nursery drop off when they still have to basically pry him off me or when he freezes on the slide because it's suddenly too busy and I need to go 'rescue' him. Autism has been mentioned because of this and his sensory sensitivity (he only likes cold baths, spins around alot and things like that) but I'm not sure because some things just don't seem to fit that? We'll see how we get on with the paediatrician. I just want some tools to support him as he gets older really.
