Toddler holiday sleeping arrangements - bed / cot / other?!

We're going on holiday later this month for a week to an Airbnb and can't decide what to do about sleeping arrangements for 2.5yo DD. Choices are a single bed, a travel cot or maybe buying some in-between solution like a bed rail or a ready bed / inflatable bed type thing.

She currently sleeps in a cot with the side off, so pretty low to the ground. She never falls out of it but I guess the stakes would be higher in a single bed and she might feel a bit precarious. She weighs about 13.5kg so still within the 15kg limit for the travel cot but getting to the upper end. Any recommendations?

What beds are in the air bnb? With my daughter at that age we put her in the single bed and then pulled the mattress off a spare single bed and put this on the floor next to the bed. Although she never fell out of the bed

I would have a look on FB Marketplace for a bed guard for the single bed (they go for about £10 on there), and if no luck, buy a ready bed. You want a normal child-sized one, as the 'My First' size will be outgrown by 3yo IME!

Single bed and a few pillows on the floor. Tuck a sheet or blanket over her bottom half and under the bed too.

Is there space in the air bnb to take the mattress off the bed and put it on the floor? Then she can just sleep on that?

Would your daughter feel safe in a single bed? I would personally go for whatever is going to maximise sleep. At 2.5 we used a travel cot just for peace of mind and because it was closest to what DD was used to at home.

We just went away with my daughter who is 3 this month and she slept in a single bed with cushions on the floor. It was a bit higher that the toddler bed she sleeps in at home (and with a hard floor not carpet) but with the cushions it felt fine. To be honest she was so tired each night she barely moved!

My DD is 3 and sleeps in a cot bed too, low down 1 side up. We had the same issue in a caravan and she slept well in the single bed. I'd say go for whatever is closest to being at home, a bed guard or 2 is a good suggestion.
