2.5 year old travel sickness

Hi, my son is 2.5 and seems to suffer from travel sickness. We have had a few instances of proper vomiting and a few of just complaining about his tummy and general whining. It seems to start up on most journeys over 20 minutes or so. Luckily we live in a city so most journeys are short. However we have lots of travelling planned in the summer, including a trip to Devon which will obviously involve a lot of winding roads.

Is there anything I can do to help him that really works? I would prefer natural remedies over medication but would if there was something approved for his age that works well. Any tips and tricks welcome!

My top tips are forward facing, fresh air available, not looking down at books/ tablet. I still have to do these for myself as I get terrible motion sickness.

You can get the accupressure bands for kids. Boots own-brand of travel sickness pills are for age 3 years and up so you're not far off there! You use a quarter of a tablet so it's a very small dose. I was a sicky child and had the pills from pretty young - you can crush the pills and mix into a spoonful of yoghurt/applesauce that kind of thing. Helps that it makes you drowsy so I usually slept through long journeys! https://www.nhs.uk/medicines/hyoscine-hydrobromide/who-can-and-cannot-take-hyoscine-hydrobromide/

Thank you to both of you. Felt so sorry for him today when it happened, dreading the travelling in the summer! Will try these things x
