3 month old barely taking 2oz at some bottles

So my 3 month old has a bottle roughly every 3.5 to 4 hours - at the moment I’m making 6oz bottles but some she drains and some she barely takes 2oz. Should I drop to 5oz in the hope she’ll take the next one better?
She always feeds well before bed and then I give a bottle before I go to bed between 10pm and 11pm but she’s really disinterested and hardly has any. She then wakes at 4am which I always assume is out of hunger and feed her but again she’ll have one or two ounces and then goes back to sleep and then is disinterested in her morning feed. The mornings are then a bit hectic as I have the school run to do and I don’t have time to give her the bottle in two sittings (which is what I end up doing when I’m not in a rush).
I’m tempted to not feed her at 4am and see if that helps but am worried she won’t settle back to sleep and I obviously don’t want to leave her hungry.

Any advice? I’m just so confused, DS1 always drank his bottles straight off no messing but this little lady is obviously different!

Are you sticking to a schedule? You may find she feeds better if you just feed on demand, rather than at specific times, but I appreciate it can be hard to fit that around other activities.

Otherwise if she's gaining weight well I wouldn't worry.

If she's gaining weight fine she will be ok maybe drop the 4 am feed and she might take more in the morning

@CoalCraft I wouldn’t say a schedule as such as I don’t really feed her at set times - she very rarely cries for a bottle so I try to make sure she’s not going more than 4 hours between during the day if you see what I mean. There are certain times I feel I have to feed her so for example when she first wakes which she’s never very interested in and I feed her before the afternoon school run as it’s quite a long slow trip when walking with DS in tow. She does seem fine and is gaining weight so perhaps you’re right and I shouldn’t worry, she’s just so different to how DS was!

This sounds exactly like my 12 week old, drives me mad trying to predict how big a bottle she will want. No suggestions as I generally feed on demand but also tried more of a schedule and she seems to do the same thing regardless. I'm hoping it's just a phase and she'll be more consistent with feeds soon!

Even at a year mine wouldn’t take more than 4-5 oz of milk. If they r gaining weight don’t worry but speak to yr HV.

Thanks, she’s quite petite so maybe she just doesn’t need much but it’s just the inconsistency, I end up wasting so much formula which isn’t ideal. Last night she took a full bottle before I went to bed which she’s never done before so I didn’t feed her when she woke at 4am - she went back to sleep and then still only too 4oz this morning 🤷‍♀️. I’ll try to just go with the flow and what she needs, I just find that hard as I like to know what I’m doing! As my mum keeps telling me, she’s a baby not a robot!
