Whenever we visit family we never seem to bring enough toys... How many toys do you bring for your 1 year old when on a low key UK holiday visiting family?

We’re off for a weekend with the in laws and we take as many toys for our 18mo as fits in a Sainsbury’s bag for life 😊

Toy cars, books, blocks, bubbles, puzzles, shape sorter, wooden animals, balls, balloons… MIL has literally nothing there and a house full of fragile ornaments!! Wish me luck.

Allllll the toys! 😅

Something we found works, if budget allows - something new halfway through the holiday. Not a massive present, just something different to explore - some stickers, or a magazine, or a little ball. Or keep something back in the car/bag and produce it part way through?

If it's a family friendly location with outdoor space, you don't need much. Mostly indoors with lots of things not to touch.. . Bring EVERYTHING!

A handful of books, a favourite cuddly toy and a very small selection of 'doing toys' such as puzzles, flash cards, shape sorting things, Duplo etc. If we're going to spend lots of time outside at the park or beach, then also a ball / bucket & spade etc.
We tend to spend most of our time out and about though.

@WobbleHead we also have the “fill a bag for life” rule! It’s the perfect amount.

We also roughly do this! I have two of them though and have to take things for both, but the stuff for eldest is decreasing now (they're nearly 5).

300 books
A set of cardboard boxes to build and then use for various purposes
Some crayons to use inside cardboard box.
