Younger sister dry before her brother

Title says it all really, DD who has just turned 3 has been potty trained for a few months now but has also had dry nappies at night for the past few mornings. DS who is 4 is still waking up with full nappies in the morning. How do I go about this situation as I don’t want DS to start refusing refusing to wear his night nappy or get upset that his younger sister is dry before him. Anyone been in a similar situation?

Just leave it & it will come naturally. My eldest was 6 before she was dry at night but my youngest was 3. It's a hormone that needs to kick in to keep them dry at night.

You could use pull ups if he notices his sister isn't in nappies they might help him feel more grown up

My 6.5 yr old is still in pull ups at night while his 4 yr old sister has been dry at night for over a year. We just don’t make a big deal of it. We’ve explained to him that there are things we can do to try and help but ultimately his body needs to mature a bit more. Other mothers of his classmates have told me their children aren’t dry at night so it’s helped sharing that with him (mentioning no names!) but honestly he’s not really that bothered.

My sister has twins ,a boy and girl, and the girl was dry at night years before the boy. The kids never noticed or minded that one had nappies and the other didn't

DD is 2 years younger than DS. She was dry at night about 2.5, DS was nearly 7 and it's still not totally consistent. So we had best part of 3 years with older DS in night nappies and DD not.

Wasn't an issue. We just explained to DS about hormones and until the right one kicks in he will need to keep wearing a nappy. That it wasn't anything he'd done wrong and it was quite often quicker for girls.

My daughter was dry at night at eighteen months. My boys.... a different story!
