Tips for parenting a preschooler with ADHD?

Bit of an forethoughtful title, but I need some help! My son is 3y9m and showing a lot of the symptoms of ADHD. He always has but I’ve often dismissed it that he’s just acting his age, and/or that he’s just a particularly active kid. I’m not going to armchair diagnose him from Dr Google but it’s definitely got to the point that I need to speak to someone.

But in the meantime, are there any parents out there of children with ADHD who might be able to give me any parenting tips and advice? The three big ones are his inability to stop moving his body, the constant talking, and not being able to focus long enough to listen to me. And the result of all of it is that he has two modes: FULL ON or crashed.

Bit more detail if it helps….

The first one - moving his body… it’s a problem because he has baby sisters who he gets a bit too excitable around and rolls on top of and headbutts (playfully!) and just gets carried away. He just fidgets constantly. Plus he’s generally a bit destructive; he’s not a bad kid but he does play with his toys quite elaborately and they take a bit of a pounding! It makes me very nervous now that his sisters are trying to play next to him.

Constant talking… from the moment he wakes up to the moment he goes to bed. He interrupts constantly. We’ve tried to do that trick on Bluey where she puts her arm on her dad; he gets what I’m asking him to do but struggles to do it.

Not being able to focus… as it says on the tin really. Sometimes I just need to convey simple instructions to him and he’ll be dancing around or distracted by something etc.

Thanks in advance, really appreciate anyone who can give me anything helpful.
