never used a wool wrap - can I put it over Bimbles? Totsbots? for night? for day?

I air it when it's wet then wash it in Woolite (or similar) when it's pooey or starts to smell, yes?

enlighten me, oh woolly ones..

Isn't Flame a big wool wrap fan?

GappyLaBore · 16/02/2008 21:49

?have you lanolised it? or is it ready lanolised

GappyLaBore · 16/02/2008 21:51

you can put it over any nappy (that needs a wrap) you like... as long as it fully covers the nappy underneath (my night nappies tend to be on the bulky side)

i prefer my woolywrap shorties for that reason... but i do have one of those beehinds wraps you linked to.

GappyLaBore · 16/02/2008 21:53

and yes, as long as its lanolised, you just air it when wet and its fresh as a daisy for next night.

and yes, you wash it if its got crap on it, or honking (mine never have honked! tho ive washed em a couple of times anyway) and re-lanolise. the lanolisation gets more effective with each application.

MrsBadger · 16/02/2008 21:57

hmm, tis at least secondhand

can you tell by feel if they need re-lanolising? should it feel greasy, like a sheep? cause it doesn't...

OP posts:
GappyLaBore · 16/02/2008 22:03

nope, shouldnt feel greasy.

but it kind of smells of the lanolin. which, since youve nbever done it, you wont recognise, so thats no help

i would lanolise first to be sure. last owner may have washed it for selling but prob not bothered to relanolise after...

normal wrap tonight then...

MrsBadger · 16/02/2008 22:05

hmm, I might not get into this... just fainted at the price of wool wash + lanolin

bog standard Airflows for this badger

Would this work?

moondog · 16/02/2008 22:08

lmao at unwritten law that states every usable nappy has to have a ridiculous name.

MrsBadger · 16/02/2008 22:08

aha
Lansinoh

thanks Flame!

MrsBadger · 16/02/2008 22:10

OP posts:
moondog · 16/02/2008 22:16

Are Bimbamboozles Dutch then?
Or Flippertwikits?
Or Lanolierollies??

MrsBadger · 16/02/2008 22:27

[suspicious]
are you making these up?

actually when you think about it a Pamper is a damn silly name for a nappy

OP posts:
moondog · 16/02/2008 22:28

It is (and yes i am)
Wa once asked whether i was a pampers or whatever the other big one is. Woman nearly fell off her chair when i said i was neither.

Flamesparrow · 16/02/2008 23:37

wolwikkel???

You're making it up no?

Off to google

Flamesparrow · 16/02/2008 23:42

Ooh googled - tis a felted wrap.

Yup, woolite or summat is fine. It needs lanolising though (as I have just scrolled through thread and discovered you know )

Liking that lanolin link! Looks cheap. Underthegooseberrybush is good for lanolin.

Put about a small teaspoon of it in a pot with a squirt of baby shampoo and some very hot water (to melt it), shake it lots to mix and melt.

Pour it in with some cold water so there is enough to cover the wrap, and it is about 30C.

Squeeze it through and leave to soak overnight.

Do it about once a month.

Wash it whenever it starts to retain a smell after being left to air for the day. You don't need wool wash - baby shampoo is fine.

You can use it over any nappy. Felted wraps are good because they are slim enough to use day or night, but night is only under looseish fitting trousers.

MrsBadger · 17/02/2008 10:03

thanks flame

I have Lansinoh (as suggested on Bumfluff ) so will soak it tonight and let you know how I get on.
