8 week old feeding

This is my first post here! For reference I am a first time mum to a daughter who has just turned 8 weeks old. We live in the UK and she is formula fed.
Basically we have been on a feeding roller coaster, she was projectile sick a lot and straining in the night struggling to pass wind. We then moved to C&G comfort formula which reduced the amount of times she was sick but the straining continued so we had laxatives. We slowly reduced the laxatives which worked and now the past week we have been faced with unfinished feeds and projectile sick.
I am really doubting my ability to understand cues, she doesn't smack lips or bring hands to mouth or "root" so it's all a guessing game. When it's been around 4 hours I offer a bottle but she will have around 3 ounces and have had enough or be sick!
I'm just struggling to know what to do. My main questions I'd love advice on are these:
Is 5 hours too long between feeds at 8 weeks old in the day?
How can I know she is hungry without the cues?
Has anyone moved from cow & gate comfort to regular Aptamil and had success? I am debating going down the route of assuming the comfort has become too rich and heavy for her now.
Thank you so much x

Difficult one but if she is being sick a lot she may have issues with something like reflux which the dr could prescribe something for. I think the comfort milk can be very constipating. My baby was constipated and reflux a lot and he has CMPA so issues went away once formula changed. Probably unlikely to be that but you never know . I would go back to GP x

Also I have fed 3 hourly since birth and still do (he is 8m) he's never taken much formula and still only has 5 ounces a feed so don't worry . He never showed cues either it seemed to want much milk x

Hello and welcome to MN Wink

I think 5 hours is too long in the day without a bottle, especially once the weather eventually warms up. Personally I'd be offering every 3 hours in the day at this age. Ideally you want her to start getting used to taking calories in the day, although they could be a long process.

From what you've described though I think there's a very real chance your DD may have CMPA. Have a look at these symptoms and see what you think.
