Any recommendations? We managed last year with the factor 50 Childs Farm but tried this year and itโ€™s flared his eczema up unfortunately ๐Ÿ˜” have tried most of the Nivea/Soltan etc.
Hes very fair skinned - lots of red hair in the family.

La Roche Posay? Ultrasun? Have tried P20 and hated that.

I hope someone comes along with suggestions. With that skin and eczema Iโ€™d really on covering and shade.

Aveeno do sunscreen, we used to get a spray one for DS who had dreadful eczema, have to get it shipped from US or Ireland though as not licensed here for sone reason.

@Lamelie Lots of shade and covering too but heโ€™s a very active toddler thatโ€™s not feasible all the time!

@Madamecastafiore Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š his eczema isnโ€™t horrendous thankfully. But really flares up with certain products and itโ€™s uncomfortable for him so doing what we can to try and avoid it!

Sun sense. Itโ€™s expense so I just use in on the eczema prone areas.

Belltentdreamer · 14/04/2023 08:04

Altirust was recommended by my sons dermatologist and itโ€™s the best Iโ€™ve ever tried. They have a few different products but this one (Iโ€™ve attached a pic) is the best I find.

Of course, I remember! I just found it useful to think of sunscreen as a back up, not the main protection.

Mineral sunscreens are recommended for sensitive skin rather than chemical. Weโ€™ve got on really well with the La Roche Posay one.

@Makewayforsummer @Belltentdreamer thank you! Iโ€™ll look at these ๐Ÿ˜Š

@Lamelie Yeah thatโ€™s definitely the way we look at it ๐Ÿ˜Š

Another vote for La Roche Posay, I have tried every cream under the sun (pardon the pun!) and this is the only one that dd does not react to.

Top tip, don't buy the kids one, it's more expensive and the ingredients are exactly the same as the adult one!

ItWillBeDone · 14/04/2023 08:35

Our son was prescribed sunsense by a dermatologist for his eczema. The whole family used it in the end as it was amazing. No more prickly heat, easy absorbed, etc. It's no longer available though. So we're looking out for a replacement too.

AggieTop · 14/04/2023 08:39

Hi OP - the only one my DC can tolerate is Green People. It's expensive and I used to dread sending it into school when she was at Primary for fear of others using it ๐Ÿ˜ but it's the only one when she doesn't have a reaction. Likewise their shower gel (unscented) is the only thing that she can use except for the "goose grease" prescribed by the doctor.

I have eczema and use Garnier sensitive. Everyone with eczema is different though so may not work for him. Eucerin Allergy is also OK.

I'ma red head, taking my two red head grand babies away this summer. Altruist is the best sun cream I've ever used by far. I can't stand the greasy feel of sun creams and this just sucks into your skin like a moisturiser and works like a dream. We're at a real good squidge twenty minutes before leaving/going out in the morning and then again after lunch (avoiding the peak sun times). We've not had a a single burn since I swapped to it when it came out.
