Hi,
Not much advice but lots of sympathies. My almost five-month-old has just got his first two teeth. He was fine until yesterday.

If you can try and take a break. I have found being on my own with him very hard at the minute because I currently have a nasty chest and water infection.

Mine has had extra feeds, lots of cuddles, screen time (all hail Miss Rachel) and some Calpol at night. He doesn't do teething rings but loves eating his hands.

I've heard good things about Parsons gel and you can take that with Calpol. I have heard that Nurofen is better for teething though.

Just a picture of a toy we have. He loves it for his teething and prefers it to any teething ring I've ever given him.

During the day we just do his favourite things. He is currently sitting on my lap being cuddled watching the lights on his play gym.

On another note, watch out for runny poo and a bad belly. I didn't realise they were related until I saw the teeth and then his poo went back to normal.

Unfortunately, every baby is different and this is just what is helping mine.

Good luck and I hope it's over quicky.

Nurofen is better than calpol.
Anbesol liquid can be used from 5 months.
Teething powders don’t contain any pain killers. They have sugar in them which will make them feel better for a couple of minutes.

Yeah he just wanted to be cuddled and is happy he's defo feeding more which I don't mind been and got him lots of different teething rings and he's more keen on chewing on his hands or his Muslin cloth I've also got teetha gel and that seems to help I'm not to keen on the granules but I did pick up some just in case and that toy looks good do u know where u got it from ? Thanks ladies much appreciated for the advice.Flowers

I need to get some teething gel. The teeth kind of took me by surprise, I wasn't prepared. He has been dribbling since he was 3 months old but he has really bad reflux and was using a dummy a lot for the pain. He was otherwise a happy baby so it didn't occur to me that the teeth were imminent.

I got the you for his fine motor skills and he used naturally used it to help his teeth.

I know 😩 reflux is the worst. He is on special milk because they thought he had a milk allergy. Waiting to speak to the paediatrician Friday to see what they say.

He also likes his O-ball. This helped before his teeth emerged. It's also good for his tongue (he has tongue tie) and fine motor skills.

What's an o-ball ? And yes my 3 year old was on milk as well but wouldn't drink it as didn't like the taste so we end up on meds but all cleared up at 12 months old she wouldn't sleep on her back had to be upright at all times weaning helped a lot I started early with her at 5 months x

Classic Ball Babies Grabbing Ball, Shaking Ball with Large Hole, Baby Sensory Rattle Balls with Bell Ball, Sensory Toy for Early Educational Learning (12 cm) amzn.eu/d/5CddC4s Amazon O ball

My little one often likes to sleep in my bed cuddled up on a pillow ( I know bad mom) but sometimes you have got to do what you've got to do.

Only 7 months to go then 😂😂

He has been licking food but some make his reflux worse so I need to research a bit more first.

A small damp cloth, rolled into a tube then frozen. My dd would chew on it for hours. The cooling really helped plus it helped sneak some water into her as she didn’t want to drink.

Same here but baby is only 3months, don’t see any sign of front teeth but noticed this at the side, could he be getting his fangs first?

JollyJellyCat · 18/05/2023 19:09

Lpnb1 that's probably an Epstein pearl, my baby had loads early on.
