I have 4.4yo and 2.5 yo dc. I am working 4 days a week, 1 day spend with them at home and we have family weekends (although I am more with dc than dh).
I am absolutely dreading the day I have with them alone every week.
We went to a new playground and bikes this morning and it was lovely but since we got home it's a mayhem.
I tried to do some cooking and tidy a bit, play with dc, feed them, keep them quiet whilst DH husband wfh.
2.5yo is in the peak of horrible twos (I hope as I don't know how I would bear it getting worse). Keeps hitting, kicking, throwing things and when I try to explain we don't do things like that and use all the psychology trick not to be shouty mum he just laughs and keeps doing it and I lost my sh** again today.
I spoke with a friend she had 3dc and was sahm and she said she loved it. Can someone please tell me how to like spending time with your children?
I just ate a tonne of chocolate 5o calm my nerves (and am on a diet!).
Please please give me some advice!

I really enjoy my time with them 1to1 and they are absolutely lovely to be around but when they're together the beasts are coming out. 🙈

Mine are the same ages as yours (roughly) and I still enjoy it but work short days 5x a week rather than 4.

I try and focus on the bits I do like, cuddles in bed, the morning, going out and doing things, bathtime, when they play together nicely. And keep my expectations for the rest of the time.

Afternoons when they get tired they are foul but at least I know to expect it??? Bedtimes urgh. Getting them out of the door and dressed and brushed teeth urgh. One day after another. They are very sweet.

Are you trying to be tidy and quiet due to your husband working from home? Is there any chance to ask him to go to the office? It might be more enjoyable if you expect afternoons to be harder than mornings and not to have to worry about husband.
