dd2 (4 end of march) has been dry at night since she was 2 but for the past week she has been wetting the bed.

she does drink loads, which we try and keep under control. she was even tested for diabetes at one point but the results were negative.

her bed time has always been 7-30 at night till about the same time in the morning, there is no reason for this to start happening, no family upset, illness etc.

should i try lifting her before i go to bed at night which is usually about 11-00pm, it would be a lot easier than changing sheets during the night but i want her to wake when needing the toilet, not having me do it for her.

is there a better way of solving this!!!!

Have posted on this before - check she is not constipated as constipation can put pressure on bladder at night and cause this. Just a possibility but you would be surprised at how often it does turn out to be the cause for children this age who were previously reliably dry at night. If she is constipated, focus on sorting that out (search other threads on this), and the wet beds will cure themselves as a consequence.

Also worth getting a wee sample and asking GP to check it for low grade infection.

If you dont already have them, get those bed mats for under the sheets to save your mattress!

I wouldnt put any pressure on her to sort it out herself, chances are it is something she cannot help and doesnt even know how to stop it herself.

has she started at nursery or something? maybe shes sleeping very heavily and is absolutely exhausted and doesnt realise until shes done it?.........is it worth trainer pants again if only to save your mattress and sanity?

she has been at the same nursery for ages now and she is really not the sort of child to let things bother her.

we do have a waterproof sheet under the matress but she gets to hot if i put one under the duvet cover so her duvet is now pretty much ruined.

i had never thought about her being constipated, will have to keep a eye on this.

i have tried to be calm about it and have managed so far till 3-00am this morning when i had a little hissy fit
