What do you feed your one year old?

I'm looking for some easy dinner ideas for my one year old that we could also eat as a family, things that I can just throw together when I finish work. I do a lot of batch cooking, but it takes some effort.

Just give them lots of bits of what you have

Interested too. Mine eats well at daycare. But evenings are short and can be taught. We have started keeping him leftovers from ours the night before so he is trying new things but not always a success! He did have curry today and love it.

He also eats eggs, potatoes and veg with chicken or fish, sweet potato, avocado, spaghetti, cheese

Any kind of pasta dish is a favourite here, especially orzo!

What sort of things do you make for him to eat the next day? I like a lot of hearty meals, stews, mince and potato, etc, but I use the gravy granules, and they're high in salt, so I can't give him that. He has things like beef casserole, homemade soup, creamy chicken and broccoli but they're all made to suit his little tummy and I'd just love to be able to put something on the dinner table for us all to enjoy.

I do a couple of fish things a week like little fish pies that I can also freeze and tinned sardines with something easy like baked potato . Then we might have pasta bolognaise and peas one night, tonight was just a tomato and mayonnaise sandwich as rushed, made egg fried rice last night (though I have never tried freezing this so maybe that’s not a good suggestion )
also beans on toast is popular here.

I also cut sweet potato and potatoes into chips and bake them in olive oil and melt cheese on top . And give tuna / leftover chicken / slices of cucumber / slices of fruit etc .

Everyone in our house loves cheesy broccoli pasta. Launch a load of broccoli in the pan with the pasta and boil until the broccoli is mushy. Remove broccoli whole pasta continues to cook. Mash then mix in some cream cheese and maybe a handful of grated cheddar. Add pepper to taste. Stir in cooked pasta and serve to everyone. I had it for my dinner even though our toddler had dinner at nursery because it’s so quick and nutritious and doesn’t make that much mess.

We used to give them chips, sausages, fish fingers, beans, jacket spuds etc and when we cooked something to make into portions it was things like curry and chili and soup and stew.
