How much do you spend on classes for your toddler?

Do you take your child to toddler classes? If you do how much do you spend?

Just curious really, I take my DD age 2 to two different toddler classes a week both cost £6 each. They only run during term time though.

She loves going to them and I love taking her and getting us out the house, but I also want us to get a couple of season passes this spring/summer to a couple of local outdoor places, one would be £75 (for me, DD & DP) and the other would be £86.

Do you think that's excessive?

I don't really have any good mum friends and im currently a SAHP. It really helps my mental health if I make sure we get out every morning and go do something, then we walk the dog in the afternoon. But because we live so rurally, I usually do not see anyone else. I want to keep busy so I don't have time to get lonely.

I often wonder what other mums are doing with their kids...

Used to spend loads approx £100 a month (music groups, sing and sign , messy lay etc) Gave up when she started totally ruining it for everyone else and their children (diagnosed with Autism recently) . I really miss the classes but it was upsetting dd and others

now we go to one free sensory session a week at a children’s centre

I hate classes so we no longer do any. 2YO does 2 mornings a week of preschool and then we just do unstructured stuff like playgrounds, museums and soft play. It’s not excessive if you can afford it and you both enjoy it.

£15/ week on her swimming lesson, £6.50 a week on a sensory group and £1.50 a week on playgroup. So £23/week. I'll occasionally take her to soft play too so probably a bit more than that.

Two weekdays off work with mine. I live London so lots of choice. £3 disco rhyme time once a week, and the other day could be play cafe, soft play, £2 playgroup, free library activity or £10 gymnastics session. Apart from the latter all v cheap, but I don't blink an eye at other mums who sign up for expensive block classes. I just see it as what works for different people - timings, locations, what people prefer etc etc.

Doesn't sound excessive to me. I find it easier looking after my daughter if we're out and about in the morning.

None.
I did take him to a toddler swim when he was around 15 months, but it seemed a waste of time tbh. Was €85 for 8 weeks bulk, but he was ill 2 weeks, we had to travel 2 weeks last min and so the 4 times we went it seemed a bit pricey. Plus he didn’t seem to enjoy it any more than us just taking him for a normal swim.

Theres no other classes around really for toddlers, it’s more 5+ years after school like gym or music, which I guess is when they will benefit more.

£1100 per month childcare = no classes on a regular basis 😂 we always go out at weekends to various things but mostly free stuff, and book a few things in for when we're off work as a treat.

No it's not excessive!
My daughter goes to..

Toddlersense £8
Gymnastics £6
Number train £7
Artventurers £8

Term time only, she also does her free hours at preschool (one of the above classes runs at preschool)

If we didn't go she'd be climbing the walls. She's 3.5 and I'm a SAHM, they keep us sane and its a good routine for her. She gets plenty of playtime and time at home in the afternoon etc.

I don't do any clases due to living rurally and what little there is to do isn't available when I'm not working. We also have a couple of annual passes including one for a soft play centre which we make the most out of. I don't have loads of mum friends but go to the park as often as we can so DD can play with others her age.
