Two month old not smiling or cooing

Baby is exactly two months and is yet to smile or coo or make any cute baby noises. He was born at 37+4. Beginning to worry a little as he's so different to his big brother. When do I worry and contact someone?

By all means ask a doctor or health visitor if you feel worried, but honestly babies haven’t read the text books and often move at their own pace. My first was an early smiler, laughter, talker. Second didn’t so much as crack a smile until she was at least three months (born at 38 weeks). Gave me the distinct impression i just hadn’t been funny enough up until then. She’s still a thoughtful one, but i just put her to bed (age 3) laughing her head off over wearing an empty toilet roll as a hat, so she seems to have got over it 😁

My baby's 10 week old now and is smiling and cooing but without sounding odd start sticking your tounge out and do pout face my baby was trying to copy me, he did stick his tounge out and loves a high pitched voice from Me telling him he's driving me potty wanting all mommas milk and not letting me put him down. Also eyes nose cheeky cheeky chin touch baby's face 😅 hope u get some communication back soon good luck x

Baby still young, stop comparing to your other child.

Doesn't that make him six weeks old though in real money?! Things should be starting to happen fairly soon but try not to panic as he is so tiny. It's a lovely age so try to enjoy it.

Prem.babies can take longer to do things in early months. Just chill and enjoy your baby. If still not making sounds by 14 weeks see HV.

My baby was born at 36 weeks and started smiling a little at around 11 weeks real age, took a couple of weeks to do it more consistently. Hasn't stopped smiling since!

My baby was born at 37 weeks and he was 'late' to smiling too, I think it was around 3 months . He is now 7 months and doesn't stop smiling - don't worry xx
