Hints and tips when husband is working away

Before i start. Yes i know I'm not a single mother, yes i know loads of mums deal with this all the time, i just wondered if if i could have some help regarding what you do to make your life easier when you're responsible for children.

I have a 15m old, in my house everything is 50/50- we share chores, baby bedtime etc. I work 3 long days (4 in 3) and 2 days with baby. Usually on my working days husband does drop off and pick up for nursery.

He'll be out of the country for a working week coming up and again another week in May. I'm not sure if it'll be a regular thing but either way it's happening.

Is there anything i can do to make things a little bit easier for myself? I drive (great!) so can do drop offs/pick ups and usually wfh, I'll just have to start a bit later.

I don't know, maybe I'm being pathetic but just worried about being lonely when she's tucked up in bed at 6:30 and whether the house will just be a huge tip by the end of the week because usually that's the husband's job!

Clean up after 6.30pm so you don’t have time to feel lonely and your house doesn’t turn in to a tip - simple!

Don't sit down on the sofa till you've cleaned up. Choose easy food to make and clean up after. Enjoy watching whatever you want on the TV.

bet you'll find the house less messy as there'll only be the 2 of you.

Ok so if your worried about be lonely in the evenings - here's what I do. Eat meals my DP doesn't like, watch stuff on TV I like but DP doesn't. Keep the radio / TV on for background noise, arrange to call friends for a chat, even invite someone around for the evening.

Look at this as a positive and remember the house being untidy is not the end of the world!

Thank you! I know I'm probably being silly really but I'm just feeling a bit overwhelmed.

I know, i know people have much bigger problems than me but i can only base things on what i know!!

MyDH doesn't work away, but there are often 3 or 4 evenings in a week when he might not be back before i go to bed.

I stick the telly on for some background noise. The quiet gets to me otherwise.
