14mo not pulling to stand or talking

As the title says. He crawls around really well and has said mama once or twice, but doesn't really have any words, doesn't pull to stand and doesn't seem to want to put weight on his legs. GP says wait until he's 18 months old and then we'll refer him for tests etc. But I am still really worried. We have had a hard time lately with moving homes and whatnot, but he has been consistently behind with all of his milestones since he was born.
Am I right to be concerned?

I wouldn't worry about the talking as such. Does she make sounds and babbles ?
With the walking, mine is nearly 15 months and only just started to take first steps last week. He's getting more confident each day. He's been pulling to stand since 10 months.
If you hold your baby against something eg coffee table do they bear weight?
Lots of babies just crawl everywhere for ages as they know they can get there faster .

My son was 18 months and 3 weeks before walking unaided. Talking well he babbled but then we realised he had a speech delay.

14 months is not early for walking?
9/10 months considered early ,
18 months would be considered late and anything in between average

Thanks for responses. It's reassuring as I thought he was quite late on both fronts. He makes sounds, doesn't really babble but hopefully soon.
I took him to a little group and all the toddlers his age were standing or walking.
He doesn't wave, clap or point either. And all babies were doing this. Parenthood = constant worry. 🤔😭

too early to worry, yes, there might be delays, but at this stage he is still well within the range of normal. Your GP is right, wait and see how he does in the next few months

yikesanotherbooboo · 17/03/2023 08:21

He is well within the normal range .My, latterly highly articulate ,DD learned no new words for almost six months after we moved when she was 15mo.She was good at making herself understood in other ways however.

Yes sorry I meant early for lack of walking and talking to be a concern.

Thanks 🙏 I feel a lot better reading these comments. It doesn't help when people are constantly asking 'is he walking?' 'is he talking yet?' and then the 'so and so was walking at 10 months' etc. Autism runs in the family so that is a huge concern for me.

DS, crawled early at around 5 months, but didn't walk until 15 months. I think he found it so easy to get around crawling, he couldn't be bothered to walk. He is now 17 and still doesn't particularly enjoy walking, but is a very strong competitive swimmer, who is hoping to qualify for Nationals this year!

He was also behind with his speech and didn't have any words until around 2 years old. At 3 he had a course of speech therapy. He's still a quiet person, but is currently in Y12 studying 3 A levels.
