Breastfeeding rooms - UK

I am currently using the nursing/feeding rooms in Fenwicks Newcastle - I had no idea these existed so I’m just wondering, where else is there dedicated rooms like this?

I know some people don’t think parents should be put in rooms to feed however I think they are fab for those that are not confident feeding in public or for those like myself who has a nosy 6 month old who refuses to feed in public and unlatches every 5 seconds to see what’s going on 😂

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oooh, you're up and about early on mat leave!!!

Most big department stores have them, and theme parks. They're the only places I know off.

I don't know if any, though I do recall being somewhere where the ladies room was big with seats (possibly Peter Jones or John Lewis)? Not specifically for BF but so the ladies could have a sit down! I had no problem breastfeeding in public but often there were no chairs to do so. I remember being in an airport and before the lounges after security there were no seats at all and I was desperate.

Bicester Village has fab ones, as does John Lewis.

Some shopping centres have them. The one near my parents had a great parent room... a changing area, a bottle feeding area, a separate breastfeeding area reserved just for mums (no men), a toilet you could get a pushchair into and a cubicle with a small toilet.

John Lewis ones can be good.

IKEA is very baby friendly as well.

Bluewater has them.

M&S has some lovely rooms in some branches. As others have said, John Lewis, too.

My personal holy grail is a baby changing room with a toilet. Otherwise, how am I going to the loo if I’m out and about alone with the baby? You can always tell when a baby change was designed by someone without children 😂

Ah this is brill I’m going to look out for them! Thank you

John Lewis have the best ones - the store near me also has a massive toilet (big enough for a pram) that also has a child’s toilet in the same room as well as a changing table. All bases covered.

Ideally you want the feeding room away from the nappy change (otherwise it gets a bit smelly!) but that doesn’t always happen, just to warn you!

@Stickstickstickstickstick omg I know!!! My biggest peeve is when there’s a baby changing without a toilet!! It’s always annoyed me but now I have a 9 week old and a toddler, it’s even more enraging. I need a room where I can change baby and where my toddler (and myself!) can use the toilet. I often resort to using the disabled toilet which obviously isn’t appropriate (and usually still too small for the pram anyway) but what can I do?

I do wish there were more breastfeeding rooms available generally. I do feed in public but sometimes you do need a bit more privacy.

Edited to remove post as I’ve accidentally jumped into a post on a different post talking about baby feeding rooms - no idea how
