Something I can do from home... not looking to earn loads but just something on the side. Maybe online?

Open to any ideas.

Buy something for cheaper than you sell it for = make profit. (Or get it for free for even more profit)

There are many ways of doing this.

  • Use a site like freecycle to get an old piece of furniture for free, upcycle it, then sell it.
  • A little controversial, but when I see a video game on sale I buy it then sell it to CEX to make a profit. A few years ago I bought a SNES mini for £60 on Amazon then sold it to CEX for £90.
  • If there is a charity shop near you that sells clothes/accessories for <£4, you can find the gems then sell they on eBay for more money to make a profit. If you find a Joules Harbour top for £4 at a charity shop, that will sell on eBay for about £10-15.

Teaching English as a second language online?

I do this and there are many companies out there, however, it's about finding the right one.

You can choose your own hours - as many or as little as you like. Some companies pay weekly and others pay monthly.

If you really do just want a little bit of 'pocket money' then there are plenty of money related Instagram accounts detailing side incomes such as surveys, focus groups, etc.

If you don't need the money in the immediate future though, you could use that same time to learn a skill which has the potential for unlimited earnings.

A girl at work made a lot of money making up and selling gift boxes on Vinted.

My friend became a book keeper.

If you’ve got any copywriter or editor experience then have a look at 100poundsocial. Can be really flexible about when you do the work (you just have to have completed it by the deadline day each month) and it’s up to you how much work you take on.

What are your skills? What did you used to do for work? A lot of jobs can be flexible. I take it you’re looking for evening work as you’re looking after the children all day. Could you do data entry? A friend of mine does helpline/customer services from home between 1800-2100 a few nights a week.

Go on the work sites such as LinkedIn. They have many jobs on world wide for WFH.

Such jobs as call centres frequently want telephone communications advisers for businesses.

My daughter does this for a multi national banking company. She works in the evening to fit around her son and her partner getting home.

Buying and selling on eBay or better still Etsy, if you can find a niche to run a small business on.

My daughter also does that with an Etsy shop too

Good luck
