Joie one isofix

Hi, first time parent and feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the different travel systems, prams and car seats.

We are really keen on having the Joie 360 at a later date but want to use a carry car seat initially that easily fits onto the pram frame. I can't seem to see any clear information on which Joie bases can be used for all types of Joie car seats?

Basically I am looking for one isofix to use for a joie carry car seat that we can then also use for the Joie 360 later on? It's possible it doesn't actually exist... if it doesn't are there any other brands that have one isofix for a travel system carry car seat that can later be used for a 360 car seat?

We had the 360, it comes with its own attached isofix base, so no need to purchase one to fit. The seat is heavy to move between cars because of the base, but easy to fit.

I loved that car seat, but wouldn't recommend until baby was around 8-12 months, as it isn't that snug for a newborn, however I used mine for 2 children, both until they reached 4 (I got it when my eldest was 1 and I had my youngest when he was 2.5)

I'm unfamiliar with the Joie One, but the infant carriers usually have a base that can remain in the car (if isofix) and most of them can also be seat belted in as an alternative, a lot of bases can't be used with other seats. I found the bases were easy, but when seat belted the baby lay flatter. Dependant on babies size you can usually have a good fit in an infant carrier until 12-15 months, they just get a touch heavy to pick up.

Hope that helps a bit!

I've just re-read your post and I have no idea where I got the Joie One from! Lol....I blame the kids!

Joie have a few infant carriers, I think the bases are individual to each, but as the 360 has the built in base, you can look at other brands for the infant carrier. Maxi Cosi do a few and most pushchair manufacturers have the clips that will allow you to add their seats to your bases. Joie also do pushchairs/travel systems which again have the clips to place the infant carriers on.

Yes as PP says you don't need a base for the Joie 360, so you can just look on the Joie website (or indeed any car seat brand) at the infant seat you want and see which bases it's compatible with.

Joie actually have more cross-compatability between infant seats and bases than most brands but they aren't all compatible with all bases. They have different features e.g. one has angle adjustment to compensate for sloping seats, one has a rotate function (but I think this is overpriced and not really needed for the infant stage)

Or indeed you can use an infant carrier seat without base, just seatbelt it in.

If you are just looking for a cheap, basic, reliable infant carrier that is compatible with many prams I'd look at the basic Cybex models.

While it is an option to get one base which takes an infant seat and a 360 seat later on I wouldn't bother with these as the entire system ends up being horrendously expensive. It's more economical to go for a 360 seat with the base attached that you don't need a separate one, like Joie 360 Spin or Britax Dualfix.

Thanks for the responses on this! I think we are going to go with the Joie Versatrax and are just checking if it is compatible with the Cybex Z2 infant carrier :)
