Not sure where to post this...

arm bands, floaties or rubber ring? My DS and I have been swimming for the second time and he is thrilled about jumping in and out of the pool. The ELC arm bands Ive bought him need regularly blowing up, bit annoying telling toddler to stop and hold still when he's thrashing about. Also not sure they offer maximum buoyancy (is that the right word?

what would you use?
Might post in products too
thankyou

The arm bands SHOULD NOT need blowing up! I would take them back and get some different ones. would also get a woggle (The long floats) can tie it round him as a ring if he is tired etc... happy swimming.

We use a ring and arm bands.. ask what they reccommend at your local pool

Our swimming teacher told us to ditch the armbands and try and get DS used to using a noodle/spaghetti as it teaches them the correct swimming position from the start whereas armbands keep them vertical. DS is 2 and gets on fine with one.

You can get solid foam disk armbands if you are worried about inflatable ones . Then you gradually use fewer rings as they gain confidence. dd used armbands and a woggle then just a woggle.

Arm bands, which never need blowing up more than once - I agree that your ELC ones might need replacing.

DD previously had a lifejacket-style floaty, which made her float in a position which wasn't good for swimming, so I wouldn't recommend one of those.

Have fun!

Floaty jackets - absolutely fab - really builds up confidence in the water - my DCs swim like fish now and I really think it is all to do with floaty jackets from a young age.
