What about letting them 'do' you first? :0

MamaG · 10/02/2008 11:06

How old is DD?

2sugars · 10/02/2008 11:06

Refuse any treats AT ALL ALL DAY, that might work

If that fails, refuse to feed them at all (only joking obviously)

2sugars · 10/02/2008 11:07

Shiny, have done that too.

Frizbe · 10/02/2008 11:08

If they refuse to get checked, just go and buy hedrin, on the pretense of it being shampoo, rub it in, leave to dry and then wash off 8 hours later (shampoo again anyone!) result if you kill any critters and if not, waste of money, but at least you've got peace of mind.

ShinyDysonHereICome · 10/02/2008 11:08

Maybe explain to them that if they have them they could pass them on to their friends, which is very 'un cool' ?

Promise them some DVD time while you hair check.

2sugars · 10/02/2008 11:09

TE, mum's coming up from London today, to take us all out for lunch - with her partner. Should I cancel that?

OP posts:
hecate · 10/02/2008 11:09

Bin liner.

go to their bedrooms and put everything into bin liners.

They get it back after they submit.

MamaG · 10/02/2008 11:10

you've got to get naaasty!

Tell them that they ARE having their lice treated. If they do, they will get a night withyou (and dH?) where they choose the DVD, make the popcorn, make the pizza etc

If they DON'T then their friends will think they are gross, they won't get pocket money and they can't play out for a week

MamaG · 10/02/2008 11:11

oh just re read OP, they might not even HAVE them?

OK, you may have to sit on them and check by force

cory · 10/02/2008 15:22

Yeah, I think I'd sit on them.

Janni · 10/02/2008 15:29

Tell them that the school INSISTS that it's so serious you either have to check them or you have to shave their heads - they won't be totally sure and while they're figuring out whether or not you're kidding, pin them down and check'em

tibni · 10/02/2008 15:52

Would telling them that you will send a
note into teacher/headteacher stating that (name of child) has refused to be checked and may have nits work?

At my childrens school children can be sent home with nits - the shame factor may well work!

If not id make their life hell until they gave in
