My little one is 3 weeks old poos seem to be very watery, he is struggling with stomach ache and has other symptoms so thinking it may be an allergy. Or is this normal for a formula fed baby can’t remember from when my daughter was born.

I would keep an eye on that maybe try a different brand of milk but do not let that poo stay like that to long because they get very dehydrated at age fast, if it carries on I would get medical advice to be safe.

By that I mean make me think it could possibly be an allergy.

It looks similar to my newborn dd's ( she is 9 now) , turns out she had a temporary lactose intolerance following a sickness bug . There were also streaks of blood in my dd's some times. Within hours of changing her to lactose free milk powder she totally changed.

Just bear in mind that it will take a while to get use to the new milk or even take it.
But watch out for dehydration.

Lactose free milk won't make a difference if its cows milk protein allergy. Lactose is the sugar in milk, it still contains the protein.

You'll need prescription milk from the GP but be aware the first few they will make you try contain Milk protein, just more broken down. You may need an amino acid based formula.

In children lactose intolerencr/allergy is really rare. It's normally the protein in the milk so I'd go totally dairy free so no milk in any form so no lactose or whey etc. Trial it for about 4-6 weeks and see if it helps. There's a great allergy group on Facebook for help and support called main group cmpa x

If bottle feeding you may need a hydrolysed milk where the proteins are semi broken down or a amino acid formula which proteins are full broken down

Same as my little girl when she was a baby. She had cmpa and was on nutramigen formula. She grew out of it at 12 months and can now have all dairy products

My baby had lots of mucus, it was cmpa
