I’ve recently become a stay at home mum and I’m planning to be until the youngest is three so roughly about 18 months. I’m curious as to what other peoples daily/weekly schedules are and I just wondered if you think I’m doing enough with mine? I think it’s okay I’m just suddenly having doubts please see below!

Morning: TV, breakfast, puzzles, get ready. DS3.5 at preschool 9.30-12.30 everyday and I go to a baby group with DS18mo 3 times a week and get out the other two days to a cafe/shop/walk.

Afternoon: lunch, play date with friends with similar age children/activity three times a week. The other two days are mainly at home and a trip to the local park. At home we read, magnatiles, puzzles, playdough, makes dens etc etc and then TV around 4.30 while I make dinner.

Is this enough? I suppose I feel like I should be out with them all the time so worry about days at home? I get some housework done sometimes 😂.

Sounds perfect! This is similar to what we do. I don’t think having days at home is a bad thing either. It allows your children the opportunity to make their own choices. It’s good to have a mixture of both and it sounds like you have a nice balance.

Sounds fine to me.

Would there be the option of changing preschool to less but longer days so you have full days at preschool so you have just your youngest all day then that would leave you a few full days to go on bigger days out? I always found with morning only sessions I was back and forth all the time so switched to full days.

Sounds like you have a good mix of getting out and about and also being at home, it's good for children to learn to amuse themselves at home while you get on with jobs etc.

Enjoy! Ive been a SAHM for over 15 years now. Still a SAHM although all mine are at school / part time preschool now.

Oh thank you! I had a moment’s doubt today when they were getting cross with each other.

The preschool is a 3 min walk from our house and does a couple of extended sessions a week too so is ok but I definitely miss the whole days he used to do at his old nursery!

I feel like I'm not doing enough just reading YOUR post so you are definitely doing more than enough.

My 4 year old attends pre school 3 mornings a week. 1 year old I take to the park and softplay and in the past a baby class. I don't go to toddler groups.

Hello, DD is 3 & @ nursery half days x 5 days a week. I'd value some thoughts on how best to use the after nursery hours, she is done about midday. Currently we either visit grandparents, go to the playground/park/walk or soft play. Home activities like playdough, role plays & puzzles. Weekends are playdayes. We have a few hours before it's time to prepare dinner & wind down.
Wondered what others do after nursery?
