I feel really awful. Has anyone else been impatient with a tiny baby? Three times now I've really felt cross with dd1. I didn't do anything except say 'what do you want?' quite loudly but I feel I shouldn't lose control at all.

don't feel awful - you didn't lose control

i remember wanting to scream at DS when he wouldn't stop crying when he was newborn, i didn't but the temptation was so strong

the first few weeks can be hard - you are all tired and getting used to each other

be kind to yourself ... get out for a walk, a nap - do you have a partner?

What a relief! I thought people were going to say that was a terrible thing to do.

I do have a dp. He'd just taken the baby so I could sleep for a few hours [we're on a very frequent feeding schedule]. I got all worried about her having bottles. When I took over again I was trying to breast feed but she was fussing for three hours - wanting to feed and then falling asleep on the breast. all got a bit much - especially as I was just supposed to have had a nice rest. I'm sure she'll feed properly later. She did yesterday!

I had a look for the thread but can't find it.

any mother who hasnt ne it is either a saint or has a nanny/family helping a lot!!!!

I always used to say oh for gods sake what now knew it was getting a bit frequent when ds started saying it all the time.

jellies · 09/02/2008 09:12

Oh poor you, its amazing how insane someone so helpless and tiny can make you! My hubby came home from work one day I met him on the door step and told him to take DS as far away from me as he could.. he drove off with him for 3 hours and I slept cant believe how much it helped! I promise it gets better!
