EmilyBreen · 15/02/2023 10:06

DD is almost 3 and not potty trained yet but she is getting far too big for changing units when we are out, where am I meant to change her when out of the house?

Any suggestions

Take a folding mat and do it on the floor

AnneLovesGilbert · 15/02/2023 10:07

Can you do it with her standing up?

TooSmallForTheMembrane · 15/02/2023 10:08

Standing up? I’ve done that with mind since they could stand independently.

Pull ups standing up?

Merrow · 15/02/2023 10:08

Mat on the floor or them standing up (with pull up nappies as they're easier to get on like this).

dementedpixie · 15/02/2023 10:09

If she is only wet can you use pull ups and then you can rip the sides to remove and she can step into fresh ones. Poo is a different matter I suppose. Portable changing mag on a floor maybe?

I haven’t ever changed her standing before as I have always found it quicker to have her lead down. I may start doing it standing.

I think stood up from memory

MisgenderedSwan · 15/02/2023 10:11

I changed mine in the boot of the car or laid the pushchair flat and in that if we had it with us. Otherwise a folding mat on the floor but usually tried to find a private grassy area outside rather than the floor of a public loo!

bloodywhitecat · 15/02/2023 10:11

It's a problem I face too, I refuse to change mine on the floor as it feels undignified and I worry about moving him from his chair to the floor and back again. If I had a mobile toddler who was able to stand I would do a standing change but my little one is unable to even sit unsupported so a standing change doesn't work for us.

I’m just impressed you manage to convince a 3 yo to lie down for a nappy change to be honest! DS is potty trained but refused to lie down from about 18 months old!

Pushchair is a great idea! Haven’t thought of that before.

Thankfully she’s outgrown the crocodile roll phase, she knows now that if she lays still it gets done so much quicker.

Could you not potty train her? Seems the obvious answer to me

We have tried already but she didn’t take any notice at all, we are trying again over Easter.
