Just so people can stop posting those thinly veiled attempts to compare their children with others

And maybe distract attention from the fecking class threads.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

both ds's walked on exactly the same day 9 months 4 days.
ds2 can only just count to 100, he has dyscalculia

SaveScrabulous · 09/02/2008 23:16

surely you're all talking about walking supported not unsupported at such early ages?!

With proper comparison type threads I reckon the only people who answer are at the extremes so you don't really get an idea of 'norms' anyway.

Peachy · 10/02/2008 09:18

We counted when they walked across (smalL!) room unaided.

But as I said, it don't make a shot of difference- my eldest migt have been the envy of the toddler group with his milestones, still SN now.

Interested in this thread?

Then you might like threads about these subjects:

I don't need to write these things down. I text my sister when things happen, and she keeps records of everything

StealthPolarBear · 10/02/2008 09:33

My son learned to raise one eyebrow and do a really condescending look at a very early age!

DualCycloneCod · 10/02/2008 09:36

ooh this IS an interstign thread.

colditz · 10/02/2008 09:37

Ds1 learnt colours before he could say them. (this sounds so impressive without the disclaimer - he had a speech delay - he was about 2.5)

foofi · 10/02/2008 09:37

I have no recollection of when they did anything. I do know people who kept detailed spreadsheets of this information, but I was busy doing other things I suppose. Eventually your kids can do everything, regardless of whether they were first or last to do it.

ingles2 · 10/02/2008 10:01

Scrabulous,.. no when they were walking completely unaided! At 9 1/2 months an elderly woman told me in the park that ds1 had just walked 76 steps. I hadn't noticed! Was too busy gassing with my friend!
I wonder if we should start an early walker thread Peachy..
ds1 is extremely clever G&T (shudders) at Maths
ds2 very definitely SEN. I wonder if there is a link?

colditz · 10/02/2008 10:01

Ohhhh is mozzarella loving a milestone? I fear I may have pushed my cildren into it before they were ready - I chop it up with milk on and microwave and serve as cheese sauce on pasta (because it sticks the pasta together and makes it stay on the spoon

melpomene · 10/02/2008 10:07

Never mind counting to 100; my dd1 actually invented some new numbers such as 'u-leven','nefteen', and 'zero-ty twenty' [proud Mummy emoticon].

Anna8888 · 10/02/2008 10:21

My daughter has her own special number too - cinquante-dix-sept

Maidamess · 10/02/2008 10:23

I can't remember what I did last week, never mind all these things!

colditz · 10/02/2008 10:23

LOL ds1 used to get excited and exclaim that"I will do it twenty forty hundred times!"

Cam · 10/02/2008 10:27

QuintessentialShadow

Yes, the problem of peeling quails eggs, I'm so glad that you brought this up

My dear, the answer is to fry them (in virgin olive oil natch)

colditz · 10/02/2008 10:34

and if you fry them,, you can serve them with those chipstick crisps and have "fairy egg and chips."

fym · 10/02/2008 10:48

DS was an early walker / crawler it is a nightmare

I may have been the envy of the toddler group but give me one that stays still any day!

you do not want a mobile 6 month old (been there!!!)

colditz I'll try your fairy egg and chips it sounds great!

bubblagirl · 10/02/2008 10:55

QuintessentialShadow · 10/02/2008 15:41

CAM oh that must makes such cute little fried eggs! I think I shall get a dolls porcelain set to serve it up! I wonder where I can get mini mini cherry tomatoes and miniscule mushrooms and baked beans! And we can make a real teddy bear breakfast for the kids to enjoy!

colditz · 10/02/2008 16:09

Cut a small cherry tomato in half and serve it as a grilled tomato.

PS my 4 year old boy was quite thrilled at eating 3 fried eggs for his dinner one evening, but it didn't cross his mind to question why they were so small. he didn't even really notice, until I pointed it out.

berolina · 10/02/2008 16:18

ds1 crawled at 7 months (which was a couple of months before he could sit up properly unaided), walked at 14 months. First word at a year, then nothing for months. Colours and counting happened at some point over the last year. He counts to 13 fine then always goes to 16. Teeth I think at 6 months. Unpottytrained. He has quinoa once a week at lentil-weavery kindergarten

MarsLady · 10/02/2008 16:21

mine weren't even born before they were able to do all of that. They came out speaking 17 languages

colditz · 10/02/2008 16:33

we aren't talking about babies any more, we are talking about fairy fry ups.
