You need to speak to your GP, they can prescribe a treatment if it is thrush. Sometimes babies just get a milky residue on their tongue so it might be that - thrush will look quite thick and won't rub off.
Is your baby breastfed? If so, your partner will need treatment for her nipples as well if it is thrush.

You need your baby to be seen by a doctor, as thrush can affect feeding - but it can easily be treated with antibiotics.

Is it just a milky tongue? As it doesn't always mean it is thrush.

Is the baby wanting to feed? Thrush is painful for babies to feed. Nevertheless I’d get it checked.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Both my DDs had it, I think it's just one of those things.

If it is thrush the GP will prescribe an anti fungal cream which is a pain as you need to rub it on their tongue. But it should clear up fine.

I thought DD had thrush on her tongue but it literally was just milky residue. I got a Muslin and wet it with warm water and wiped it and it came off.
