god, sorry, dont want to be a bore here, but this whole pram/pushchair thing is really making my head hurt.

the choice is insane, the mark up on these things must be enormous and when we were in mothercare yesterday, i was just staring at these things thinking my god - look at how big they are for such a small baby.

ok, enough with my moaning. last night, my post re the zapp got an overwhelming no. thank you all.

someone (sorry, forgot who) suggested the silvercross 3D. i like the way it looks, and have found an online deal that includes a carseat and is within budget.

any experiences//thoughts???

TIA

If the carseat isn't one of the top performing ones, (don't know if it is) I wouldn't. Choose a carseat for safety.

I have the pram but not carseat. It folds up fairly small for a from birth one, looks good and generally only complaint is it is pretty heavy. We got an ex display one heavily discounted from Kiddicare so that might be a way to save money.

I honestly think it might be worth getting the car seat and pram separately. I think travel systems are overated. It is bad for them to spend too long in acarseat and it is honestly not a great hassle to transfer from car seat to pram. They soon go back to sleep if you're pushing them at least in the early days.

haven't seen your previous post, so apologies of you know all these pointers, but choose by what you're going to do a lot of - ie, if you're going to be in and out of the car, choose a pram that you can put up and down easily. If you're going to be doing a lot of walking, choose one with the bouncy tyres (sorry don't know proper term think it's pneumatic or something - anyway, the ones you pump up!). we got a Mamas & Papas pliko pramette originally, with car seat, as it was half price in sale and the car seat was one of the safest. It was fab in terms of safety and easy to put the car seat on the pram, but I had been obsessed with getting one with a carry cot lay-down, as kept reading baby must lie flat etc.
Well, DS hardly went in the carry-cot, mainly I carried him in the baby bjorn, as I do loads of walking and even when going out in the car would find it much easier to throw the baby bjorn in the car and swap him into that. At 10mo, we went and bought a 3-wheeler with the tyres, as I walk miles with him (ahh, sadly baby bjorn now gathering dust until no.2, haven't got round to getting a back pack carrier for him yet) and the pliko just wasn't up to that much walking.

I LOVE the silvercross prams, and would love to get one next time, but am happy with the 3-wheeler, it does lie flat for newborn and I have to accept I'll probably just use the baby bjorn for the first 6-months again. (Think DH would draw the line at a 3rd pram!) a couple of friends have the 3D and think they are fab.

So really think about which one would best fit in with your lifestyle.
