Can my 12mo sleep without a bag?

My dd will be 1 next week, she has been a terrible sleeper since she turned 7 months (before this she slept through from 1 week old). She’s up every 2 hours, usually has a 2 hour stint of just being up and wanting to play and even when she settles after that she’s still waking every 2 hours until morning.
She sleeps a lot more soundly during naps and the only difference is she doesn’t nap in a sleeping bag. I’m apprehensive to put a blanket on her at night as I’m checking on her regularly during nap time whereas at night time obviously I’m missing big chunks of time whilst I’m asleep and she’s such a restless sleeper at night time, she’s constantly wriggling about and ends up in all sorts of places and positions- but then I’m now thinking this could be the bag making her uncomfortable. I just wondered when others gave their baby a blanket instead of a bag and how you went about it, were they warm enough, anything else I need to know etc?
Please don’t come for me, I have never posted on here before but I am in need of some
advice. I’ve spent hundreds on pillow mists, vapourisers, a humidifier, a new bloody mattress, mattress toppers, countless sleeping bags/suits, I’m just all out of ideas on how to get her to sleep soundly and she just seems to hate every bag I buy. I even bought her a togged sleepsuit which she hated even more. She’s currently cruising around the front room at 10pm and I’m just all out of ideas and not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Thank you again everyone. She went back down at 10:45pm last night in a vest, sleepsuit and socks and I just put a thin blanket tucked tightly over her from the waist down as her sleepsuit was footless. She woke up hysterical at 12:15 as she has an awful cough atm and couldn’t catch her breath and panicked. She went back down at 12:45am on her front with her knees tucked under her and bum in the air which is a position she can’t really achieve in a bag and I didn’t hear off her until 5:30am when she woke up coughing again. She came in our bed from and got herself straight back in that position so I think she needs the freedom of no bag to get into that comfortable position. I think if it wasn’t for this cough we wouldn’t of heard off her her until 6:30-7am which is her usual wake up time so I will continue to try layers and no bag and see where she gets to. Hopefully the weather will warm up soon although she is a very warm little person anyway.

My one year old isn't keen on sleep bags. He sleeps really well with 2.5 tog sleepsuits (we got ours from Tu, much more affordable than others!)

Sorry, just noticed you said she hated the tog sleepsuit!

M&S do sleeping bags up
to 36 months

A 1YO can safely have a duvet. If they’re happy in a sleeping bag then no need to change things but there’s equally no reason to keep them in one if it isn’t working. If they’re still in the cot then you need a toddler cotbed size duvet with a max tog of 4.5.

Sainsburys do togged suits. They are just like a big baby grow but togged like the sleeping bags. My DD is 1 and has been in these from 3 months and they are the best thing I've ever bought. They only cost like a tenner. If you can't get the girls one just buy the boys version? I've done this. Would 100% recommend
