Delaying eight week vaccinations

Assumed the doctor would contact us about our DDs eight week vaccinations. On calling to check, I assumed wrong, and they now won't give us an appointment until March when DD is 14 weeks old.

Is this okay? It feels all sorts of wrong to me and surely leaves our DD vulnerable. Can you get vaccines like this done privately!? Has anyone else had delays like this?

I delayed all three of mine by about 3/4 weeks because of various illnesses. My eldest was bringing in all the bugs! One was quite long delay because she was in the chickenpox incubation period (my eldest had it) and didn't want to get the vaccines then the next day start showing signs of pox. She didn't get chickenpox (breastfeeding) but just after incubation period she got an ear infection so it was another delay. I think it happens a lot.

She's now 13 months old and I am having to delay those because of chest infection. What can you do?!

As they say, better late than never
