Cherry juice for sleep

My (just turned) 2 year old has turned into a horrendous sleeper over the last month or 2. Wakes multiple times a night, no longer self settles..someone told me to give him cherry juice as it promotes sleep apparently. Has anyone tried this and does it work?

I’ve not tried it for babies/children but I have for myself.
It needs to be tart cherry juice to properly do the things it claims to do (help your body increase natural melatonin levels).
It is really quite tart though which I like but not sure how much a child would like it.
does it work? I think it helps. I notice when I wake up in the night (my body is used to waking up frequently as my baby was such a poor sleeper until recently) and when I’ve had the juice at bedtime I do seem to be able to get back to sleep faster than before but don’t know if it’s a placebo effect that obviously won’t really work on a child but maybe it’s worth a go anyway. The proper juice, so not from concentrate, is also good for immune support etc so I figured even if it doesn’t help sleep I’m getting a good dose of vitamins.

Not tried it myself but cherries and bananas have naturally high melatonin so I can see the logic in it. If you're not keen to give juice then the actual fruit may work just as well
