3 month old swallowed a teeny bit of chocolate?!

I’m so mad right now. DH was eating chocolate (Galaxy ripple to be exact), he was playing with 3 month old DS at the same time and he put the chocolate near his lips as a joke. The flaky part of the chocolate fell into DS’s mouth only a tiny bit and he swallowed it and definitely enjoyed it. He’s smiling and is still licking his lips and me and DH are worried now. DH did this only as a joke and didn’t know DS would open his whole mouth. I can’t help but be mad at DH. How bad is this? Sorry if it’s a stupid post!

Totally fine. Like some other pp I was weaned at 3 months and eating rusks every night for supper at this age. No harm done Wink

In the gentlest way, is this your first baby?

What are you thinking a bit of chocolate is going to do? He's fine, probably just hoping for some more.

When I was that age my brother was caught feeding me bird seed, not as delicious as chocolate unfortunately.

😂 bird seed though

To reiterate what other pp are saying - my mum and mil loved to reminisce about weaning. In their day, the weaning commenced when the baby reached 9lbs in weight. If the baby was bigger when born, the rule of thumb was three weeks of age.

Weaning meant adding powdered stuff (obviously baby food stuffs not drugs) to bottles or softening a little bit of rusk in a bottle and shaking. Mums used to compete for how soon their babies started sleeping through the night. (It was probably more important back then as no central heating - our house was one of those with frost on the inside of the windows in winter. So night feeds would be chilly for a good proportion of the year.)

It was also common to dip dummies in alcoholic drinks.

And I grew up alright Grin
