Baby poo mistake :(

Hi all, first of all sorry for TMI. My baby is 15 weeks old and has been unwell for over two months, we have been seen a few times by doctors and consultants and are waiting for a diagnosis. I am sleep deprived and seeing my little one upset and unwell all the time has been hard. Now onto the reason I am posting here. Husband currently does the laundry and I do the folding as it works best for us. We currently use two nappies and a reusable cover each time due to LO's digestive issues. They come out clean with no stains. Last saturday I was quite behind with putting away the washed clothes as I needed to.hold the baby most of the time so asked husband to fold and put the clothes away. Yesterday I pulled out a reusable nappy from the drawer and put it on before bed. Changed her nappy around midnight when I noticed some poo marks at the back of the nappy and instantly thought, oh she has had a nappy explosion. Opened her nappy and realised that she had only done wees so it must have been from another time and then realised oh no, was that not cleaned properly in the wash? We are very careful in making sure that all her clothes get washed at 60 degrees and we always add laundry sanitiser to kill bacteria and germs and then dry them using our dryer. I have no idea how both myself and husband missed the poo mark both when putting away the clothes and when putting the nappy on but it's probably due to exhaustion. I took a baby wipe and started rubbing it against the nappy and some of the stain did come off onto the wipe. Could this be the colour dye from the poo or could the nappy not have washed properly. No idea how as we are quite strict with our washing routine. And since that nappy has mixed with other clean clothes that we have put away, would you be looking to rewash everything? I don't even know which clothes got folded at the same time so would probably need to rewash everything. TIA x

It’s just a stain. It’s been washed.

Unless you have norovirus, no need to wash things at such a high temperature.

I wouldn’t worry about it. It might not have been sufficiently agitated in the wash as it might have been scrunched up or something. When this occasionally happened to us, I just threw it back in the wash.

Make sure you are doing a rinse/short cycle before your main wash to get rid of the majority of poo/wee. And then the longest cycle you can for the main wash. Also make sure your machine isn’t too full - about 2/3-3/4 dry is right. And check you are using enough powder (not liquid or tabs, they don’t disperse as well). I personally preferred bio to non-bio but this does void some warranties. Be careful with sanitiser in every wash as it can damage PUL and elastics.

We used cloth nappies with my eldest and they were often stained even with 60° and with some nappy stain washing powder. I even tried the hanging in the sun to remove the stains but that never worked. I just looked at it like anything that can stain clothes really.
