Hi

Im 38 weeks pregnant and looking for a nursing armchair

can anyone recommend a comfortable one?

I do like the Mamas & Papas - Bowdon
But feel like the price tag is quite high for what it is - see link below

Thanks

IKEA Poang is good - affordable, comfy and has a good amount of bounce in it. They do a rocker version but I don’t think you need it.

The sides look a bit high for me personally. I got mine off Facebook marketplace, I’m not sure of the brand but it was in very good condition. I saw lots on there so might be worth a look.

I actually found a nursing chair a waste of time. I never sat in it - would come out of his room and spend all the feeds on the living room sofa instead

Another vote for standard IKEA Poang (plus a small cushion on the side you're feeding on). I find the sides too high on nursing chairs. Our Poang has been used for 3.5 years with DD1 and almost 2 years with DD2. In between it was easy to take apart and didn't take up much space in the loft. My husband has occasionally pulled the cushioning off to sleep on next to the cot if one of them has woken in the night and won't settle. I didn't use it till 6/7 months with either of them though as they were in our room so I just sat in bed to feed.

I had a Dutailier glider and gliding footstool for ds(now 18), but notice not a lot of places sell them now and the price is 😱.

What I loved about it was the smooth gliding movement, but also that the gliding could be locked slightly reclined (so ds rested against me) which I found comfortable for feeding and reading stories in.

The chair had been in ds's room for the last 18 years, I gave it dryclean before Christmas, it looks and glides as good as new and dniece is using it now for her newborn. 👶🏻🍼

Looks like there are similar gliders available now that might be worth looking into (if they lock too).

We loved our Kub glider and we surprisingly ended up using it loads. Bedtime stories, feeding, rocking to sleep as a baby, snuggles while they napped.

The only downside was that the covers weren't removable to wash.
