Is a French version of iplayer available?

We are an English speaking family trying to introduce son (2) to the French language. He has been watching Muzzy and we got some French DVD's off amazon.fr which he actively asks for and is quite happy to watch TV in French or English.
I am thinking about investing in a satelite to get French language TV but wonder whether I can get the equivalent of listen again or iplayer from French sites? Does anyone know?
Thanks

So are we but DS is only 1 and his Gran is a French teacher s he has a few first words type books in French.
He has mothercare bilingual 'book' which he really likes and a Leapfrog bilingual table which has lights and music and he spends hours walking around it bashing the buttons randomly.
I was thinking of getting the Muzzy things - are they good?
The only French channel I can find on Sky is 799 TV5, but can't see anything that sounds like a childs programme. Its probably OK just to stick with the DVDs for now.
We've recorded a bunch of Tots TV for him as well so he can hear bits of French, don't often turn on TV and see whats on - have our own Sky+ library! That and Something special for his signing
Are you anywhere near Swindon?

I think if you do a search for Muzzy on here many people say they're a bit overpriced. Not sure about a french version of iplayer or similar.

No sorry - up North. If you want I can copy the Muzzy DVD's for you but we only have the first stage - is it ok if you are not accepting any money, maybe I will go to prison/hell but quite prepared to do it. Not sure how to private e=mail but if you know how to Yorky and you want I can send them to you. Ds loves Muzzy and now repeats the French words - Bonjour being the favourite of course!

I'm in France but don't know what i-player is.
Otherwise I might be able to help!

Thanks othersideofthechannel. BBC (and I think the other channels are now doing it) put current TV episodes on the website so you can watch them if you missed them when they were on TV - it is brilliant and if you are in France and miss British TV it is probably worth a look - go to BBB website and follow the links

Sadly the bbc's digital rights protection stuff stops you doing that in France - you can get a proxy server and try to pretend that your computer is in the UK, but it is hard to get a fast enough internet connection for that to work (especially where you and I live Otherside).

Piglett - have you looked on youtube for French language content for children? We're in the opposite situation (trying to ensure that our dses get plenty of English language tv as we live in France) so I haven't looked, but might be worth a try?

Or you could order some French children's DVD's off amazon.fr

We don't get a very good TV reception where we live and don't have satellite so DCs only watch DVDs. They have picked up lots of English expressions this way.

Petit Ours Brun might be a good one to start with because the episodes are short and you can back up with the books.

Also for when he is a bit older, if you buy children's feature films (Cars, Finding Nemo etc) in France, they usually have both French and English version.

I got a few DVD's off Amazon - postage is steep though. Although just discovered that some kids DVD that you buy here are in English and another one or tow languages. Pooh is one where bough off amazon and now have another bought here and you just need to alter the set up when you watch it so it is in French. Also have toy story 1 and 2 and fox & hounds. worth look at the back of the DVD for other languages.

Dora the explorer is also good for languages as you can choose whether to watch it in english/french/spanish. You can buy them really cheaply too from woolworths etc. My 3 yr old (bilingual fr/en) loves them
