Baby monitor for travel?

Do you take a baby monitor with you when you travel with a baby that goes to bed before you and if so what type? Just a basic one for sound? I am thinking of a situation where the baby will be asleep in the evenings while we watch TV/chat in another room (not leaving the property or anything like that). Maybe for naps too if she will nap in the cot.

Can anyone recommend a good option that is portable and not too expensive?

We always just used the cheapest one. At home and anywhere else. There's a Motorola one that we got from Argos. Plugs into the wall, sound only. About £25 maybe?

We've dropped/lost/left behind a few over the years so need the cheap ones. They work fine.

I have this one from Argos by vtech:

Sound quality is great (picks up car sounds outside the window), both ends have a long cable so you can position it somewhere convenient and the parent end has a rechargeable battery so you can carry it round with you.

Does exactly what it needs to do, no bells and whistles.

Thanks both! Sounds like what we are looking for. @FrizzledFrazzle Do you get any static with that monitor. I’m thinking it might be useful for home too when our baby moves into her own room. The fancy one I have (Cubio AI) that works through my phone drives me mad with annoying static and false alert notifications plus I can’t work out how to use it and keep other notifications on my phone silenced.

@trrk no static, and it doesn't have any notifications cos it's so basic! It's only £20 so it's probably worth getting it and seeing how it goes.

We just take our home one with us, they aren't big so don't take up much space in luggage.
