What’s your favourite stage/age of parenting?

I have a 1yo DS. He doesn’t walk yet (lots of standing some hand held steps) he’s reached the phase of “I will spend my whole day trying to put myself in danger” lol. For someone who doesn’t walk he sure is everywhere!
he doesn’t sleep through yet

i feel bad saying it, I am looking forward to him being a bit older so he’s walking/toddling and hopefully sleeping longer stretches haha! I love this stage he’s at he’s really such a character I just can’t wait to see it more and more

hes my first and currently only child so I just wonder what’s everyone’s favourite stage/ages so far I don’t have anything to compare to :)

I would go back to when mine were toddlers - exhausting and had to have eyes in the back of your head but I loved the fun of it all - taking them somewhere new every weekend and sharing in the excitement of them discovering new things. How cute and funny they are at that age when they’re learning new words and start saying “I love you”.

I would mainly go back so I could play with them more - when I was younger I was often more concerned with having the housework done and often felt overwhelmed. My advice to my younger self would be: just relax and enjoy it - they grow up so fast and once they’re teens they really don’t want to spend much time with you!

I've only got a 3.5 year old, but I've loved everything past the newborn stage. I feel like I really hit my stride when he was about 9 months and I loved, loved loved almost all the toddler stage except for potty training, which was a massive chore. The toddler to pre-school years are so much fun, we have the best chats and some great adventures together.

Hated being pregnant, loathed the newborn stage, I find even the most horrible toddler tantrum 10000x easier than being woken up every 2 hours and the relentless cycle of feeding/changing/burping. And I had a baby who slept 5-6 hour chunks by 12 weeks.

I like 18 months - 3 years. That's my absolute favourite.

Yes I really enjoyed that as well! DD is now 3.5 and overnight has morphed into Marie Antoinette, but she was lovely from 1-3. A very unhappy newborn however.

Adulthood. I love knowing them as fully-formed, independent adults. They're amazing and I'm so proud of them.

The whole time I look forward to the next stage and miss the last stage
