High Functioning ADHD DD(11)

I've long long suspected that my daughter has some ADHD traits. Nothing too serious but as she is getting older they are becoming more apparent.

Every time we have a parents evening, they always praise her work and state that she is achieving or exceeding all expectations, however she cannot stop fiddling with stuff! It's either going and sharpening a pencil 10 times in a lesson or playing with her hair etc. She can't seem to stop herself.

She has always struggled with relaxing and sitting still. Reading books when she was younger was a struggle as she would always start moving around the room etc.

She interrupts people a lot.

If I am truly honest, I see all of these traits in myself too which is making it seem more likely.

One of her teachers mentioned that she is constantly playing with her hair. This then means she is behind time-wise in the lesson - she stated she catches up. But it is some disruption. (She is in top sets in all her subjects).

We have spoken to her teachers in the past at Primary School and they haven't really seem concerned which is good. But I do feel that now she is in Secondary School it will be more apparent.

She seems to fit all the symptoms apart from the low self esteem (which is a positive).

If there is someone here who is in the same boat and can give any advice, I would be very grateful.

I'm thinking of getting her some of the fiddle rings that she can wear at school so that she is not fiddling with her hair.
