Feeling guilty too tired sleep deprivation

My 16 month old isn't sleeping very well at the moment the last month or so and wakes every 2 hours in the night. We've started Co sleeping but it makes no difference and to be honest makes things more tiring as I'm conscious of moving too much. I've not taken her out as much as I usually do and I feel so guilty. I don't drive so walk everywhere or get public transport but I'm just too tired at the moment to walk 20 plus minutes to classes I'd usually go to. Can't always get the bus if there's another pram on. I just feel so guilty.

Why are you feeling guilty?

If she naps today, make sure you take one too.

If the sleep is becoming an issue, some gentle sleep support might be required.

There's lots of methods to help them self settle.

Personally I used controlled crying and it worked in a couple of nights.

I wouldn’t feel guilty for prioritising yourself for a bit, but equally on my worst nights with DD I would try to get out of the house as soon as I could. I actually had a little routine of sticking her snowsuit on over her pjs and heading to the park at 7:30am!

Usually getting out for a bit of a walk and seeing other people gives you a bigger boost that sitting about in the house and actually makes you feel less tired.

Agree. Although it sometimes feels impossible at the time, when I've had a bad night (and trust me, I've had a few), I feel so much better for getting some fresh air and a change of scenery.

I often think that the days I'm most tired are the best ones to go to a class on, because the instructor can make up for what I lack in energy!

Don't feel guilty, nap when she does.

But I agree with pp, getting out on my most tired days actually helps me and wakes me up.
Even if it's a walk to the shop. It does you both good.

Hopefully you'll feel better.

And if you're a little lacking in energy some days? So what. Just take things a little slower, pop a film on if needed. They're just happy to have you there x

Hope you all enjoy.

Having quiet days aswell is fine though so don't be hard on yourself.

We all need to recharge.
