Baby screams hysterically until red in face

Does anybody else's baby do this?

Mine 3 month old has always been a bit dramatic and doesn't just cry, she goes from a little whinge to a full on hysterical red in the face sounds like she's being murdered cry, within seconds.

She did it while I was in the bath last night. She was next to me in the bouncy chair and started whinging and then went hysterical because I couldn't pick her up straight away. I tried to give her a dummy and reassure her but she carried on until I got out if the bath and picked her up.

She did it to DH earlier in the week when he stopped her feed to reposition her. She went dark red in the face from screaming because she was so mad.

She's perfectly safe, never left alone and not in pain. I think it's just temper.

I just wondered if anyone else's baby does this? Am I missing something, should I be worried?

Silent reflux?

fairgame84 · 24/01/2023 09:30

I don't think it's silent reflux. It's only when we're not responding fast enough to her or if something has upset her like a loud noise, it doesn't happen randomly.

I thought silent reflux too. But if not, my friends dd has done this from around 4mo for attention.
She's been a right character from early on. She is 12mo now and still does it

No advice but mine does this! Baby goes from a whinge to full blown high pitch crying in seconds. I actually got a noise notification from it on my Apple Watch - it hit 110 decibels 😂 he’s just over three months and I think it is getting better / happening less frequently

Thankyou! I just wanted to know it wasn't just me!

It's crazy how mad she gets. I felt awful last night as I had to leave her until I'd got out of the bath and dried but she was right next to me so I knew she was safe.
It was so bad that it actually drew the 18 year old out of his room and away from his playstation to check she was alright.

No advice to offer either but also experienced something similar. My normally quite settled baby went from happy to completely red faced and inconsolable quite quickly and for no reason that I could identify (maybe she had a reason of course). Happened several times around 3-4 months. If it’s infrequent I wouldn’t worry too much.
