When to give Calpol or Nurofen for teething?

I’m a clueless FTM and was just wondering how you decide when your baby needs medication to help with teething pain? My 6.5 month DD seems to be teething (she’s chewing on everything and I can possibly feel some teeth under her gums and she is a bit unsettled at times). She had been sleeping through the night for a few weeks but just recently she’s started waking up frequently during the night and doesn’t seem to want milk or need a nappy change. She’s a bit grizzly when she wakes up but not screaming or inconsolable. Does that sound like teething pain? Should I try the medication now or only if she is really upset?

Get some abnesol liquid it’s amazing. I give both nurofen and calpol but only if eating solids, if no solids just give calpol. Ice lollies made from milk/formula are great!

Get some Anbesol - it's great! You may need to ask for it at the pharmacy counter. You only need to dab a tiny bit on the gum.

With babies it's often trial and error. Give her some Calpol and see if that makes a difference, if it does she was in pain/discomfort, if it doesn't then something else is causing the waking.
