Hi sorry if TMI
It's pretty normal for my daughter to have pretty big brown poop that looks normal but it's always hard.
She sometimes also has rabbit dropping type poop. All brown. No blood. She poops almost daily too. No pain when she's doing it but does strain a bit.
She has cows milk x3 or x4 a day about 5 ounces still and 3x meals a day balanced.
What could be the issue? She sips on water here and there daily too. I always put a bottle of water out for her. Thanks! X

Good that you’re encouraging lots of drinking, my DD gets rabbit droppings when she’s been dehydrated. Does she eat much fruit? Oranges and bananas can help. Also, try a pouch of prune baby food from time to time - keeps things moving comfortably.

Oh! And fruit that starts with a “p” tends to be good for pooing: prunes (of course), peaches, pears, plums

Increase fibre in diet, but if she’s already constipated, I’d get her on movicol now to be honest before you end up with a serious problem. Fissures etc in children can so easily lead to completely withholding poo and if you get into that cycle it can take years to sort.

Thanks so much for the advice! I'll try those fruits. She does currently eat strawberries apples bananas and loves raisins

I'll call the gp on Monday! Thanks x

In addition to increasing fibre and fluids look into a squatty potty. You don't have to buy that brand, even a large can of beans, bricks or anything else to lift the feet up will help straighten the colon.

My daughter always sits in a corner hiding and poops in her nappy in a squat position! Haha then she asks for a change! Lol
