Have posted this in health but no-one seems to be talking to me and could do with some reassurance

Ds has a chest infection and is a bit under the weather. He has had diohrea (sp) today, so 3 dirty nappies already. Just changed his nappy again and its sort of burgendy in colour - the only thing that I can think of that he has eaten that would be this colour would be jelly at lunch time - is it possible for something to pass through this quick or should I be worried that it might be something more sinister?

Hi GMM
In my experience there is no time too short for food to pass through a baby! It's not good - but you already know he's ill and most likely it's part of that. I would keep an eye on the nappies and if it looks like it's getting worse or changing seek medical opinion - but I think it's just jelly

Thats ok then,I have put it in a bag and saved it just in case. He seems ok in himself apart from being chesty (just like his mummy )

just remember where you've put the bag! You don't want to come across it unexpectedly in a week or two Sorry to hear you're chesty as well

gmm I have found things pass through T very quickly
This has been a few hours I assume since lunch, more than enough time
Sorry this is a bit useless but a bump at least

StealthPolarBear · 05/02/2008 17:06

Was fully expecting to get jumped on by the food police for giving him jelly but his throat is so sore at the moment I thought it would be nice an eay for him to swallow, and a bit tastier than milk
